Joanne Helen Asperheim, 61, of Duluth, passed away on Wed., Aug. 5, 2009 at Solvay Hospice House. She was born on June 19, 1948 to Sigmund and Frances Ratajek of Duluth. She was baptized and confirmed at St. Joseph's Catholic Church of Gnesen.
She graduated from Duluth Central High School in 1966 and worked for the SLC Social Service Dept. from 1969 until she retired in March 2004. On Sept. 1, 1979 she married and became a family with Robert D Asperheim, the love of her life, and her treasured step-daughters Amy, Vicky, and Abby.
Joanne will be lovingly missed by her husband Robert, three beautiful step-daughters, Amy Asperheim of Pioche, Nev, Abby Asperheim of Henderson, Nev, and Victoria Asperheim of Duluth.; her brother Sigmund Ratajek Jr., her sisters, Sherly (Gary) Miskowski, Karen (Steven) Franckowiak, all of Duluth, and Ramona (Glenn Truman) Szukiewicz of Cloquet.
