Lawrence Eric "Larry" Johnson Jr., died Tuesday, May 30, 2000 in St. Mary's Medical Center Hospice.
He was born November 26, 1947, in Duluth to Lawrence Eric Sr. and Louise K.(Donfris) Johnson. He was a graduate of Duluth Central High School. He had worked as an automotive salesman since 1972. Larry was employed by Ryland Ford for 18 years in sales and as sales manager. He also had worked for Benna Ford for seven years.
Larry was a member of Ionic Masonic 186 and served as the current secretary and Past Master. He was a member of the Scottish Rite Bodies of the Valley of Duluth and Aad Temple Shrine. He was a member and served as past president of the Shrine Dune Buggy Patrol. Larry was responsible for the start of the Vidalia Onion Sales fundraiser in 1990 for the patrol, which continues today.
He was preceded in death by his father, Lawrence Eric Johnson Sr. in 1999. Survivors include his wife, Mareen F.(Pike) Johnson of Duluth; a son Russell Johnson of Denver; a daughter, Denelle Hevron of Dallas; stepsons Leigh(Dee) Thomas and Kevin (Heather) Thomas of Duluth; a stepdaughter, Melissa (Mark) Pleschourt of Nerstrand, Minn; his mother, Louise K. Johndon of Duluth; a brother Lyle(Joan) Johnson of Duluth; a sister, Laura (Jerome) Jones of Annandale, Minn; grandchildren Jessica Hevron, Courtney, Kara, Kylie and Taylor Pleschourt, Greg and Amanada Zimmerman and Breanna Thomas; and his always obedient Dalmatian, Noble.
