Brian L. Jappinen, age 64, of Lapeer, Michigan died Wednesday, February 20, 2013. Brian was born September 13, 1948 in Duluth, Minnesota to Waino and Siiri (Suomela) Jappinen. Brian spent his early years in Two Harbors, Minnesota, then moving to Duluth, where he graduated from high school. Mr. Jappinen proudly served his country in the Air Force, during the Vietnam War, serving in Thailand. He married Barbara E. Spellerberg in Lapeer, they were members of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Lapeer since 1987. Mr. Jappinen was a kitchen designer for over 40 years, most recently working for Home Depot. Brian enjoyed singing, guitar and tying his own flies for fly fishing.
