Michael I. Dorvall 1948 - 1999, 50, Duluth, died Wednesday, Feb. 17, 1999. Mr. Dorvall was born on July 14, 1948 in Duluth to Irving and Ruth Dorvall. He graduated from Central High School in 1966. He served in the U.S. Air Force from 1966 to 1970, spending some time in Vietnam. Michael returned to Duluth and worked for a medical supply company, tested iron ore at U.S. Steel in Morgan Park, then he worked at UMD in the maintenance department. He moved to California and worked as a welder there. Then, Michael moved to Hawaii and worked as a landscaper. He was a former member of First Lutheran Church in Duluth. He loved to travel, read and snorkel. He was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by two sisters, twin, Patrician Ellingson and her husband, Lynn, of Grand Rapids and Belle Siemsen and her husband, Marlin, of Hermantown; three aunts, Jennie Nelson of Duluth, Phyllis Hoiem of Saginaw and Edna Hoiem of Duluth; one cousin, Betty Gaus of Cloquet; six nieces and nephews; and seven great-nieces and nephews.
