Joyce M. Blodgett, 76, of Duluth, died Monday, November 11, 2024, at Essentia Health-St. Mary’s Hospital in Duluth.
Joyce was born in Duluth on August 17, 1948, the daughter of John and Ida (Gonschorek) Blodgett.
She graduated from Duluth Central High School with the class of 1966 and went on to earn her bachelor’s degree at UMD. She worked for the Duluth School District for over 20 years as a secretary in district offices and several schools.
Joyce was a member of the Alliance Community Church in Duluth. She had been a volunteer at the Lake Superior Zoo, Glensheen Mansion, and several disability advocacy organizations. She was a lover of all animals and enjoyed sewing, knitting, crocheting and other crafts. Joyce had the biggest heart and put everyone before herself.
She was preceded in death by her parents and sister-in-law, Linda Blodgett.
Joyce is survived by her brother, Warren (Anne) Blodgett of Duluth and niece, Heather (Ryan Walsh) Blodgett-Walsh of Duluth.
